It’s INK-terview time with our Client Services Director, Mark

INK-Digital-Mark-Client-Services-DirectorOur fantastic Client Services Director, Mark has been an INKer for a few months now and of course, in true INK style, we shone our spotlight on him and asked our ten quick-fire questions.

Be sure to carry on reading to find out who he’d jet off to a desert island with…

INK-terviewer: Hi Mark, let’s kick things off with you letting us in on what you’re working on this week?

Mark: New business, short and long term strategy, operations, systems, processes and financials!

INK wouldn’t be INK without…

Mark: Sausage butties on a Friday!

If you weren’t a Client Services Director here at INK, what profession might you have fancied having a go at instead?

Mark: A marine biologist or a treasure hunter.

Imagine you’re auditioning for Britain’s Got Talent…what talent would you wow the judges with? Any party tricks up your sleeve?

Mark: I’m pretty good on guitar and not bad on drums, but shocking at singing, unfortunately!

How would your best pal describe you in three words? Be honest…

Mark: Hmm… probably enthusiastic, driven, talkative and slightly nuts. Only he wouldn’t be so polite.

Ahem… That’s more than three words Mark!

If you could jet off to a desert island with three people (celebs or otherwise, dead or alive) who would make the cut and why?

Mark: There are several ways to approach this, so I had better be careful. I’m not into celebrities at all, so in actual fact I’d probably just like to hang out with a couple of my mates, who are the funniest, nicest people I know anyway, so why take the risk with a moody, spoilt celebrity?

For you, what’s been the most important digital development in recent years – and how has it helped you do your job?

Mark: At a Macro level there’s been so much development in social, mobile and apps that it’s hardly worth talking about. In terms of something that’s made a difference to me for work, I’d have to say the whole ‘getting things properly joined up in the cloud thing’. When my old Macbook died recently I was able to continue working, right where I left off, with everything available right away. In the end I didn’t even bother copying the data across from my old HD drive because everything I needed was already there.

Three-course dinner party round at yours! But what’s on the menu?

Mark: If we are going posh, raw oysters, fillet steak and creme brûlée for afters. Otherwise, maybe gyozas and dips, crispy duck pancakes with all the trimmings and something like ice-cream for dessert (although, to be honest, we don’t eat many desserts, hence the vagueness!)

If you could offer just one piece of advice to a budding Client Services Director, what would it be?

Mark: Ask LOTS of questions. Even the silly ones and ask for help quickly when you need it, as opposed to struggling on and maybe wasting time.

Finally, aside from your obvious talents, tell us something else we don’t know about you…

Mark: My greatest ambition has always been to write a successful novel. I don’t know why. I’ve always loved creative writing and have always thought of this as something that I’d have a serious go at ‘someday’…

The fun doesn’t just stop there – we’ve got heaps more INK-terview’s for you to check out. Be sure to have a gander at our lovely Creative, Georgia’s INK-terview and our awesome Web Developer, Danny’s INK-terview – they’re corkers!
